Yes, you read the title correctly, and No, I'm not kidding.
Leave it to the Ashland boys to throw something together like this within a matter of weeks. This car was powered last season by a healthy high compression 408 cube monster! The owner decided to tear the car down, and rebuild it with boosted intentions. While the big motor was out receiving a set of forged pistons, and a turbo cam, these boys were using a 4.8L truck motor to mock up the turbo build.
They decided to see just how far they could push the little brother of the LSx family. With a stock motor, a 70MM turbo, and some race gas later, the little 4.8L powered this Super Sport into the tens, multiple times, at nearly 130MPH.
Hopefully these guys make another trip to the track with this setup once they figure some issues out. The car wouldn't build any boost on the line without the transbrake, resulting in some lazy short times! If this car will move out in the short game, there's no telling what the limit will be on the big end!
